In Georgetown, residents recently came together to support Lark & Owl Booksellers after the independent bookstore faced serious financial challenges.

What happened next became a powerful example of community support. Hundreds of local residents donated, shared the story, visited the store, and helped raise more than $46,000 to keep the bookstore operating.

For many people, the bookstore wasn’t just a place to buy books—it was a gathering place, a conversation spot, and a small piece of what makes Georgetown feel local.
